I began washing dishes at 17 years old, since then I’ve helped open two restaurants, one being primarily a bar. I’ve worked from steward to bar manager and everything in-between through my two-plus decades in the hospitality industry. I earned my college degree later than most amongst this time and was afforded the chance to write for a national publication, Kirkus Reviews. I’ve written author feature pieces for them, book reviews and movie reviews for Austin American-Statesman and austin360.com respectively. I currently pen freelance food and beverage pieces for The Austin Chronicle. What is the next thing? Life is what you make it. I write fiction, prose, and poetry to pass the time.
