Evan Spiridellis is an 8x Emmy Award winning guy that really likes to make stuff. With a background in drawing and painting, followed by stints in photography and puppet making, he eventually became a filmmaker.In 1999, at the dawn of a streaming internet, Evan co-founded JibJab with his brother Gregg. In 2004, two years before the birth of YouTube, their animated short “This Land” became one of the web's first viral sensations. The brothers went on to world-premiere 16 shorts on the Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno and 2 more at the prestigious Radio & TV Correspondents Dinner for Presidents Bush and Obama. In 2007, Evan and Gregg transformed JibJab into a digital greetings business with a successful subscription model that enabled them to go directly to their audience and escape the world of advertising.In 2012, after both becoming fathers, the brothers co-founded StoryBots with the audacious goal of building a modern day, global Sesame Street. Starting with an ABC series on YouTube, the franchise grew into multiple television series featuring dozens of A-list celebrity guests and hundreds of music videos. In 2019, Netflix purchased the StoryBots business calling it “the crown jewel of our preschool library”.Evan is currently working on some new cool stuff (probably as you are reading this!) and in his spare time, he still likes to make puppets.
