A career timeline built from the work history available for this profile.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

In the lab of Dr. Jeremy Katzen, under the co-supervision of Dr. Michael Beers, I use multiple modeling systems (i.e. novel gene murine model, iPSC-derived organoids, human precision cut lung slices) to characterize the role of intrinsic cellular stress on aberrant lung regeneration. Our work highlights the impact of impaired alveolar regeneration on pulmonary fibrosis with the goal of developing novel therapies for interstitial lung diseases. • Contribute expertise in project conceptualization, design, management, and execution • Develop and optimize ex vivo organoid assays from murine lungs and human-iPSC cultures • Maintain collaborations with leading researchers, clinicians, and industry partners • Manage, train, and supervise highly qualified lab personnel • Communicate results at local and international scientific conferences • Conceptualize and author abstracts, posters, and manuscripts

Phd Graduate Student

Burlington, Vermont, United States

In the lab of Dr. Dan Weiss, I characterized proteomic differences in the extracellular matrix (ECM) composition of normal and diseased (COPD and IPF) decellularized human lungs to further understand the role of the ECM on disease pathology. I further developed tissue engineered hydrogels from these human decellularized lungs in order to determine the impact of physiologically relevant ECM on lung stem cell regenerative properties. • Contributed to project conceptualization, design, management, and execution • Utilized decellularized human lungs for proteomic studies and tissue engineered hydrogels • Maintained and performed experiments in 3D cultures of iPSC-derived lung stem cells • Forged and maintained collaborations with leading researchers • Managed, trained, supervised highly qualified lab personnel (>10 undergraduates and graduates) • Communicate results at local and international scientific conferences • Presented as an invited speaker at an international lung bioengineering webinar • Led a workshop on lung bioengineering at an international conference
