Technical competencies required for this work include thorough knowledge of SAS, Excel, Tableau, and Qualtrics as well as the ability to write and run queries in Peoplesoft. Key areas of knowledge include: project management, organizational dynamics, research design, statistical analysis, curriculum development and learning assessment.

Responsible for: managing of the undergraduate course evaluation process; Designing, managing and distributing surveys and interpreting and reporting on the collected data; analysis, exploration, interpretation and reporting of academic, bio-demographic and attitudinal data; coordinating regular and ad hoc assessment initiatives; meeting with faculty, staff and administrators to discuss and explain report findings; guiding website development; as well as the recruitment and development of multiple undergraduate research assistants. Also serve as an academic advisor to undeclared first and second year students. Act as a resource agent for students of all academic levels. Work collaboratively with academic departments and student support services on campus to ensure students maintain and/or exceed the institution’s satisfactory academic progress standards. Securely manage confidential student information through the use of Banner and other administrative software. Conduct retention based outreach initiatives including large group workshops, one-on-one success coaching and academic planning, as well as the delivery of WVU’s Student Success Seminar series. Additional duties include instructing 3 sections of West Virginia University’s 1-credit first year experience course in both fall and spring terms.

Field instructor for 3-credit hour, alternative first year experience course. Responsible for curriculum delivery and trip oversight on multiple 1 week, overnight, academic-based orientation trips during the summer for first time students coming to West Virginia University. Assisted with instruction of corresponding on-campus classes during fall terms. Expanding responsibilities included instruction of a sophomore-based course focused on the first year to second year transition as well as the co-development and delivery of an international course focused on sustainable tourism and cultural awareness in Peru. Collaborated with program director and associate director in the selection, training, evaluation, supervision, and mentoring of new staff.
