Front-of-the-house duties including: greeting, taking orders, making drinks and deserts, as well as serving food to guests. Back-of-the-house duties include: preparing food, maintaining kitchen equipment, and communicating with peers to maintain quality and speed of service.

I was responsible for assisting fellow sales representatives as well as obtaining and retaining clients of my own. Each day I communicated with various suppliers to increase profitability of each sale. I was able to refine my communication skills and develop an understanding of the sales industry.

During the summer of 2017, I served as the bakery intern at Rockbridge Alum Springs a Young Life camp. I was responsible for all baked goods served each day to 600-700 individuals. Each day I led a group of bakers through our tasks and cultivated a fun, productive environment to work in. Through the summer I was able to develop managerial skills, a strong work ethic, and an attitude of patience.

As a Student Ambassador at Christopher Newport University, I gave prospective students and families tours of the University. When I was not giving tours, I was in the office performing various tasks including filing and answering the phone. As the Overnight Manager I was responsible for coordinating the overnight programs for the year. I matched up prospective students with current Ambassadors to stay the night with. On the night of the event I was responsible for maintaining a fun environment through various activities.

As the Grassroots intern for the 2016 summer, I worked closely with the Grassroots Director. Tasks included, assisting in the prayer alert sent out weekly, communicating with pastors all across the state about upcoming events, and assisting with the improvement of guest experience at receptions. Despite my supervisor being part time, I was given multiple tasks throughout the week, where I was able to develop self sufficiency.

As the youth intern for the 2015 summer I worked under the youth pastor and alongside a fellow intern. We were responsible for set up and take down on Sunday mornings as well as assisting during the service. Each week we planned and orchestrated a bible study for middle school students, and individually hosted a bible study for high school students. I was responsible for preparing and organizing our summer camp trips. During the two weeks I was responsible for our small group sessions. Throughout the summer I was also responsible for communicating with parents and families about events. Tasks assigned allowed me to develop a sense of self sufficiency and urgency.
