Hello! My name is Evan Applebaum. I grew up in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and was accepted into the Smith School of Business at Queen's University in the fall of 2021. After 3 semesters, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my lifelong passion - a career in Mechatronics engineering. I internally transferred into the Mechatronics program at the Smith School of Engineering, from which I plan to graduate in May 2027. I am glad to say that this was the best decision of my life. Now that I have the opportunity to study what I love, I am happier than I have ever been. I have recently completed my first personal project, which involved designing and building an electric skateboard with over 9 horsepower! I look constantly for opportunities to learn new skills and apply my growing understanding of engineering concepts.
