While doing research at the Assistive Robotics Lab, I worked on multiple exoskeletons. As an undergraduate, I worked on a shoulder exoskeleton that provided passive gravity compensation to the shoulder joint. As an undergraduate, I worked on a shoulder exoskeleton that provided passive gravity compensation to the shoulder joint. For my graduate research, I created a lower-body exoskeleton that assisted the user when walking. The exoskeleton used a series elastic actuator to provide a supporting force to the user while their foot was on the ground, supporting some of their body weight. The actuator was able to be fully disengaged when the user lifted their foot off the ground, allowing free movement of the leg. Show less
