As the 1st Battalion Academic Officer I serve as the primary staff officer for Academic matters for a battalion of the South Carolina Corp of Cadet consisting of approximately 500 cadets. I am responsible for the planning, coordination, and training required to conduct Fourth Class academic orientation. I ensure that cadets assigned to 1st Battalion carry out the academic policies of the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies.I also ensure that an appropriate atmosphere conducive to study is maintained in the barracks. I have the responsibility of instructing 1st Battalion, especially the Fourth Class, on proper study habits and where to seek help for academic problems.

During my time as an intern at GVC Mortgage, I assisted in editing legal documents that would be seen by customers and consumers, assisted in the creation and development of training videos for current employees, and was educated on and received training that helped develop and further my understanding of the mortgage industry in America.

During my second year at The Citadel, I served as Bravo Company's recruiting Non Commissioned Officer (both Corporal and Sergeant). My job included assisting the battalion Recruiting Sergeant and Admissions Office with recruiting activities and Overnight Visitors. I also conducted numerous tours of the campus for groups including (but not limited to) tourists, visiting elementary, middle school and high school student groups, prospective students and their families, and Citadel Alumni.

As as assistant squad leader for Bravo Company's Cadre, I served a squad consisting of up to 10 cadets. Under direct supervision of the Squad Leader, I assisted with the accountability of squad m embers and conducted training and inspections of the squad. During the Cadre Training Period I assisted in the training, orientation, and transition into the military lifestyle of The Citadel for the Class of 2016 Fourth Class Cadets.

During the summer of 2012, in-between my first and second year of college, I completed the task of designing and producing Magnetic Instrumentation Inc.'s new, soon-to-launched, up-to-date and consumer friendly website.
