About Evan Davies
I am a product designer in the 21st year of my career. I've been a freelance designer since 2008. Due to fluctuations and demands of the current market, I recently expanded my business to bring on a network of very talented contractors under my management umbrella when and where needed. This includes a senior level 3D modeling/Engineering team, two designers with experience in soft goods and hard goods, a graphic designer and a pattern maker. This team has proven to be very successful with several of my clients allowing me to expand my depth and bandwidth. I'm passionate about what I do and I have a true love for seeing good ideas make it into the marketplace. I also have a love for learning and teamwork which is why contract work is especially rewarding for me. No two projects I take on are ever alike which means my core knowledge is ever expanding. I believe in long-term client relationships and learning, what drives each business I take on. Though I believe I provide a measurable value, my business strategy is not a race to the bottom. I manage my contractors and myself with an emphasis on thorough work, accountability and innovation, thus our work focus is to get it right on the front-end so we don't have a mess on the back end -- something we can no longer afford to do with supply chain constraints, vastly increased shipping times/costs and travel restrictions. Good enough is no longer good enough and I've never accepted "good enough" as a personal standard. My contractors reflect this. In this way, we're not just a service, we're literally inventing time-saving efficiencies as we go and offering those efficiencies to our clients. Please feel free to ask me what those are. I will be posting more updates to the portfolio in short order. Thank you for reading.
Listed skills include Product Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Concept Development, and 18 others.

At long last, I'm happy to share the 'Voyager' line of wax canvas / leather motorcycle bags I teamed up to produce for Burly Brand! This is the first bag line the company has ever produced so the challenges we faced extended well beyond traditional roles. We had to build everything from the ground up but in doing so, I believe we've been able to produce a line that people are going to love. This process not only involved challenging the motorcycle bag market with something that combines innovation with classic styling but it involved countless hours spent training several factories to meet very demanding technical and quality standards. While it was a lot of work, I've never been more proud to associate myself with such a quality-forward line of products. People are going to love these bags. My heartfelt thanks goes out to the amazing team at Burly who are all true enthusiasts. They made sure this line was well tested through well over 10,000 miles of riding. I must also extend credit to the prevailing vision of David Zemla, the tireless extra hours from Sean Delshadi and of course the unmatched hands-on engineering skills of Jim Hogg, who we sadly lost in 2016. His legacy will live on in these products. About Burly: Burly Brand is a motorcycle aftermarket parts supplier located south of LA in La Palma, Ca. They specialize on supplying high quality yet affordable parts to a growing motorcycle culture who mainly modify Harley Davidson Sportster models. They offer handle bars, shocks, "slam" kits, cable kits, sissy bars, clutches, seats, pegs and soon, the category I have been spearheading. I never post details until production has run so stay tuned on this one, it's going to be a good one!

This was a fun, quick project I did for a very different, unlikely client. I designed a very feminine / fashion focused GWP bag for a women's hair removal device. Very different from my day to day but a fun challenge and great learning experience! Last I've heard the final product did go into production but I cannot seem to find press on it. If I do, I will post.

While no product has yet to be released, I found the experience to be very positive. I worked with the team at Reliance to develop several lines of safety arrest harnesses and traveled overseas on two separate occasions to manage the process. I am proud of the work we did in spite of the fact the designs did not come to fruition. I hope to someday soon work with this team to pick up where we left off.
