Evan Coleman was born in New York, NY and currently lives in the East Village.Evan has been developing software since the age of 16. His most successful creation is a popular Mac app called Orbis (formerly MenuWeather) which aims to be a simple, yet powerful, weather app. MenuWeather has been featured as a staff pick on the (now gone) Apple downloads page and has been downloaded over 100,000 times. Evan also created an iOS version of MenuWeather which is available on the App Store.Evan also creates tweaks for jailbroken iOS devices (iPhone, iPod, iPad). His tweak Speed for Maps has been downloaded over 100,000 times. Also, his tweak called Dashboard for Maps, which adds a virtual dashboard overlay to the default Apple Maps app, is available in the Cydia Store. His collective jailbreak tweaks have been downloaded over 800,000 times.In the summer of 2012, Evan interned at Lucius Pitkin, Inc, an engineering firm that specializes in failure analysis. During his time there, Evan performed numerous tensile tests, metallographic exams and impact tests. He also designed and developed an iPad app for the company. The iPad app used the data from past analyses to help assist customers in determining the cause of structural failures.In the summer of 2013, Evan interned at Timehop and later joined full-time. Timehop is a small startup which created an iOS app. Timehop is essentially a "this day in history" or your social media and photos. At Timehop, Evan worked on a team with one other iOS developer to rewrite the entire app from scratch to support growth of over ten million users.In 2015, Evan left Timehop to freelance. He has brought numerous apps and backend systems to market for individual clients as well as corporations.In his spare time, Evan enjoys skiing, playing guitar and watching the Yankees, Knicks and Jets. He also flies planes.Evan graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering.
