Development on a platform used by scientists for phylogenetic research.* Built a service architecture based on Mulesoft ESB for scientists to import their phylogenetic data in multiple different formats, triggering workflows to translate that data into formats suitable for the archive, and loading that data into the archive* Developed best practices for API design and documentation to make it easier for external users to consume services provided by the platform, and help reduce breaking changes to the API

Worked on the NOAO Data Archive, an archive of the astronomical observations made at two observation sites, one in Tucson, AZ, one in Cerro Tololo, Chile, specifically on the data transport and archive portion.* Developed software using JMS to reliably transfer the data from the observation sites in a timely fashion to larger archive sites at three locations, two in the United States, and one in Chile, ensuring that all 3 sites received and recorded the data before removing from the original observation archive* Built APIs to enable both end-users to retrieve their raw data, as well as enabling other internal services such as the pipeline data processor to retrieve raw data and deposit processed data into the archive* Built a micro-service based architecture to build, develop, and deploy components more flexibly
