During Purdue University’s Summer Institute for Sustainability and Climate Change I worked with a small team on an idea of Dr. Luciano Castillo’s, a security system for public places to help prevent mass shootings. Over the course of three months we hypothesized a system with standard cameras, thermal imaging cameras placed at entrances to buildings, Intel 3DAT and neural networks to identify potential threats to public safety. We proposed our engineering solution at the 2022 Conference on Blue Integrated Partnerships & the 2050 Workforce of Tomorrow.
