I am a published researcher and an academic leader who has served in public office and education at all levels from twice being elected as Mayor ( and Chair of K-12 School Committee) of my hometown of Pittsfield , Massachusetts located in the Berkshires in my twenties to have had unanimous United States Senate confirmation for Ambassadorial rank at 31 as Chief of Protocol of the United States. I then had the honor to serve as President / Tenured Professor at 5 different and unique colleges and universities with wonderful Board of Trustee evaluations. I had the distinction to serve as one of the 5 members of the State of Connecticut Ethics Committee. Board member at diverse institutions like the Gap Corporation, non profits in the arts for Symphony Orchestras. Dance Festivals, Museums , the United Way and a Boys and Girls Club have privileged me to contribute time to community I am passionate about topics where I have gained knowledge such as architecture and design , preschool - secondary - higher -on line and graduate education, diplomacy, politics and government service global partnerships, green energy and Climate Change , urban development and Al all of which I speak and author OpEds.I received numerous awards and Honorary Degrees in America and internationally for contributions to these fields and my advocacy of the liberal arts with leadership at the heart of my careers ; based on vision , transparency, strategic planning , fiscal responsibility, metrics , timetables and teamwork to gain traction and get the job done.
