Geo40 extracts high value minerals from geothermal fluid, a world-first at commercial scale. The company has raised nearly $30M of investment. Initially focused on technology scale-up, my role expanded to develop target markets and customers and ultimately secure international sales, and included supporting senior management preparing investment memorandums, strategic plans and financial modelling. Key achievements included:- Securing initial company sales into four countries (Mexico, Japan, Australia, USA).- Managing IP protection process for three clusters of patents (32 patents in total), including filing PCT and subsequently nominating filing in over a dozen countries per patent set.- Securing $250K NZTE Investment Fund and leading initial effort towards securing $15m of investment through the NZ Provicial Growth Fund.- Introducing scalable manufacturing discipline, including ISO 9001 certification and SOPs.

Project ManagerMy initial role with MB Century involved managing numerous engineering projects in the NZ geothermal energy industry, projects involving 30-200 staff, with multiple teams operating in parallel. Major projects included:- Mercury Energy (Ohakuri) / Toshiba. G1-G4 Runner replacement, major $18M overhaul.- Mercury Energy (Kawerau). Steam field design and build.- Newcrest Mining (Lihir, PNG). Anti-scalant test skid / silencer replacement design and build.- Contact Energy (Te Mihi) / Toshiba. Overhaul refurbishment shut.Product Development ManagerMB Century is a technical services company with over 170 staff servicing the geothermal and wider energy sectors from extraction through power generation in the Australasia-Pacific region. After securing senior management buy-in for the concept, including development and presenting the business case, I lead the development of a next-generation downhole (geothermal) tool technology, from commercial analysis and proof of concept through to full production of the commercial tool. Highlights of this multi-disciplinary project included:- Carefully managing coordination across mechanical, electronics and software design teams.- Downhole tool successfully launched in the market, with ongoing sales in Asia / Pacific.- Finalist in the Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards.

Jaguar Land Rover is an iconic British car automotive manufacturer employs 40,000 people and and leading technology company. As Program Team Leader, I led the Program Module Team to deliver multiple components in line with engineering and program targets (performance, cost, quality, weight and timing), aligning supply chain (and vendor negotiations) with internal requirements and managing scale up to high volume production.

Beyond cameras, Olympus develops solutions for the medical, life sciences, and industrial equipment industries (non-consumer product). My role was focused on developing electrosurgical equipment components aligned to QA, regulatory, market and manufacturing requirements, and report writing for regulatory bodies (FDA).

In this role, I both led and contributed to design of next generation medical device products, including gaining and integrating customer insights into product technical performance, hands-on prototype building and testing, quality and risk management, and transfer to production teams.
