Student leadership, community development and creating an inclusive space for responsible conversations were important aspects of my role as a Resident Assistant, along with planning and budgeting for events, collaborating with other student staff and ensuring the safety of the residents.

- Management of laboratory and co-working space, in-charge of everyday operations, connecting with industry partners and helping them with lab set-up and upkeep, testing and organizing laboratory equipment. - Plan, market and run a day-long chemistry camp for local high school students, organize an Intern Panel and Career Presentation for participants - Offer scientific insight to help make workflow efficient in laboratory space, help bridge the gap between researchers and administration.

My work as part of the Peers Lab involves designing and synthesizing recombinant plasmids, protein expression and quantification as well as data analysis and presentation in molecular biology and biochemistry, specifically in photosynthetic efficiency in algal species. As part of the REU cohort, I am involved in team building, scientific presentation as well as paper submission about my research. I will also have the chance to submit my paper for publication!
