Upon my entrance into the self-employed world of design, I joined a creative co-working space in Boulder, TEEM. Formerly known as Atomic20, TEEM fully rebranded under my complete direction and guidance in 2016. While operating as a co-working space, TEEM was also a fully managed creative agency that harnessed the abilities of their various creative desk residents to complete a multitude of projects. This was an enticing option as I got my self-employed career off of the ground, allowing me to gain experience on projects with various high profile clients such as PepPod, ReedGroup, TapInfluence, The State of Colorado, and more. Upon my decision to go fully self-employed and expand my business, I exited the space with another creative partner in 2017.

While employed as a designer at Atomic20/TEEM and concurrently launching my design company, Pexl Design, I collaborated with individuals who approached me to lead the launch of a Point of Sale startup. The venture required a dedicated designer to manage all design aspects and visually represent our brand. In this capacity, I partnered with WeaveIQ, steering the creation of their brand, identity, website, presentations, and the UI/UX design for our software platform. Simultaneously, I continued to expand my design agency comprehensively. My contributions to WeaveIQ successfully established its brand during a pivotal period, coinciding with attracting investors and developing a Point of Sale software solution for dispensaries amidst the cannabis boom in Colorado.

As the Design and Content Manager at Pro Peloton Cyclery in Boulder, CO, I worked as the sole graphic artist in order to successfully market the company. Through my time working here, I helped to do a complete overhaul of the Pro Peloton website, integrating an entire new look and feel as well as features to clients that were not previously available. My other various duties included photography shooting and editing, tshirt graphics, print media, flyers, vehicle wraps, social media management and more.

At Domoto Brands I worked with a design team which covers multiple platforms including application layout and design, website design, package material and more. With this firm, I had the privilege of working with clients including National Stroke Association, BolderBoulder and many more clientele with design needs ranging from small to large in scale. This job also allowed me to expand my work experience into a broader market and experience one-on-one designer to client contact.

In this position, I was responsible for fulfilling client requests for designs of all scales. I helped to create branding, posters and flyers, brochures, newsletters, handouts, catalogs, print material, signage, postcards, clothing designs and more for a very diverse group of clients throughout different departments at Kansas State. The majority of these projects were produced in large quantities, being often distributed to large numbers of different individuals, including incoming or current students, faculty, or alumni.Working here taught me the importance of time management, how to deal with deadlines, comps, corrections and proofs, as well as how to work through the various phases of a design before it is completed for the client. I learned how to do so by working with a team of individuals who work collaboratively and collectively on various projects, then passing them on to another group of client managers in order to relay information between the design team members and gain feedback and requests from clients.
