• Lead major technical projects for Petroleum and Gas. • Provide effective technical support in the assessment of petroleum authorities and geothermal tenures through the establishment and maintenance of effective links with tenures administration.• In conjunction with the Technical Director, assist in developing and strengthening the skills of the technical team and tenures team to ensure that competency levels are maintained and enhanced within the Petroleum and Gas business unit. • Demonstrate strong understanding of subsurface development and petroleum reserves and resource estimation including economic analysis and commercial aspects of tenure management.• Coach, mentor, and facilitate employees, encouraging professional development and continuous learning • Through systems, templates and processes, lead and facilitate service delivery for technical assessments • Prepare and present clear and effective briefings, correspondence, reports and submissions for a range of clients including industry, the Minister and executive management.

Provide support and technical advice to the Petroleum Assessment Hub. Technical assessment petroleum applications submitted to the Department. Liaise with petroleum clients and industry bodies to ensure effective partnerships between Government and all stakeholders. Support and represent the Department at seminars, industry events, workshops and education initiatives. Identify and analyse trends within the Queensland petroleum industry to understand their impacts on project development within Queensland. Ensure up to date advice is provided to the Director and the Petroleum Engineer Team Leader to enable a proactive approach across Queensland resource development.

-Assisting clients with taxation related matters. -Processing forms ranging from Income Tax Returns through to Low Income Super Contribution forms. -Inbound/outbound calls.

Operations Geology- Liason between geoscience team and drilling team. Working with drilling team to design well plans, well orientation, casing design and completion strategies- Monitor drilling activities, keep teams up to date, communicate between wellsite geos and office team providing technical data and assistance- Undertake geological studies- Lead projects to scout potential wellsites, Co-ordinate land access, surveying, cultural heritage and ecological teams from a subsurface perspective- Assist in the geo-steering and drilling of lateral and multi-stack lateral wells. - Review post drill results- QA/QC field data- Communicate clearly to contractors and other teams the requirements of subsurface

-Co-ordination of day-to-day exploration activities.-Geological logging of chip samples.-Geological and Geotechnical logging of core (HQ and large diameter)-Supervision of geophysical logging.-Geophysical interpretation and correcting of borehole logs to geophysical logs by hand and using GIS programs.-Coal quality sampling of core.-Site rehabilitation supervision after site survey.-Ensuring a safe work environment.-Data research from QDEX for various clients including drill logs, seam picks and LAS files-Daily project reporting-Training graduate geologists in the use of Logcheck and interpretation of wireline logs.-Supervising and organizing work for graduate geologists.-Creating maps and contours plots using Manifold GIS software.-Desktop exploration and tenure management which included --Encoding borehole data into Logcheck and using that data to plot cross sections and contours.-Applying for new coal exploration permits. -Updating SMARTMAN Access database in order to keep track of multiple EPCs and any deadlines concerning them.
