My responsibilities were to utilize R and Command line to map patient HIV sequence data to a reference genome. I analyzed patient HIV sequence data for multiple mutation types and created summary statistics files. Lastly, I developed an original Rscript that creates data visualizations for mutation rates and combines them with gene annotation data, allowing for meaning analyses.

Researcher of Rosemary Gillespie's LabAnalyzed the chemical properties of spider silk through various chemical analyses such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and solid-phase microextraction.Conducted behavioral bioassays using spider silk extracts in order to test the possibility of chemical communication in silk from several species of Tetragnatha spiders of California, Hawaii and Japan.Initiated a Summer research project that focused on extracting chemicals from spider silk and utilizing the extracts for behavioral trials, with the goal of understanding species differentiation in Hawaiian Tetragnatha spiders.
