Leader of the portfolio risk analysis team for the business unit of asset management of SURA AM (Mutual Funds and Discretionary Mandates), managing remote teams distributed in multiple countries in Latam.In charge of implementing risk metrics and performance attribution for managed portfolios (equity, fixed income, multi-asset, traditional fund of funds, among others).Responsable for coordinate credit analysis services, provided by my own Latam team, outside providers or in synergy with other SURA AM units in Latin America.

Direction of risk management for investment portfolios of 3 companies: Life Insurer, Fund Administrator and Stockbroker. Oversaw a team of 5 employees and reported to Chief Risk Officer. Participation in Investment, Risk, ALM commitees. • Lead a team that monitors more than 30 portfolios for the insurance company as well as the fund management company (fixed income, equity, multiasset, real estate mutual funds and funds of funds) • Conversion of risk approach that allowed exceeding profitability goal, creating a win-win relationship with Investments, through adequate risk assessment and value offer.• Management on the relationship with regulators, ensuring compliance while achieving business objectives. • Transfer of the insurer risk operations to new shareholders and change management in a context of staff reduction, achieving work plans with zero audit observations.

Gestión de riesgos de mercado, liquidez, límites y análisis de instrumentos complejos y fondos. Reporte a Gerencia de Riesgos y supervisión de 2 personas. Participación en Comité de Riesgo e Inversiones• Obtención de autorización de SBS para operar instrumentos complejos, gracias a interpretación creativa del marco regulatorio y liderazgo de creación del proceso y sistema de soporte.• Liderazgo de proyectos de implementación del sistema de riesgo de mercado y límites, y participación en mejora de sistema back office; para sostener 100% de cumplimiento regulatorio.

Assist in driving strategic risk management agenda in collaboration with risk colleagues: Develop and implement best practices/processes for portfolio investment risk management to ensure portfolio/instrument risks are proactively identified and effectively managed. Manage the creation of timely risk reports, to improve methodologies and procedures for risk and exposure measurement.

Our division was responsible for ALM functions, investment portfolio management as well as provide research and information services to the chief financial officer.

The Division of Enforcement investigates possible violations of securities laws. Division is also responsible for monitoring secondary securities market.
