"Waste is a product made to poor specifications."I have doctorates in chemistry and civil engineering but it is the ability to reach solutions across diverse groups and technologies that I value the most. My skills are varied but practically orientated. I am a strong supporter of project management and have a "win - win" philosophy. I have experience in, • Bayer Geopolymers: Invention, patent, development, formulation and application. • Establish and manage collaborative research programs: CRC – CSRP.• Bayer residue re-use: Carbonated red mud, Alkaloam(R), Red Sand(TM), Red Lime(TM).• Pilot plant design and operation: Local and international. • Iron oxides & oxyhydroxides: Neutralisation, precipitation, dewatering and characterisation. • Impurity Removal: Development of a nano-sponge for cation removal. • Alkaline batteries: Development, analysis and plant production design.• Brick manufacture & assessment: Incorporation of residue fines etc. I have a keen interest in mentoring, having been an adjunct supervisor at Curtin University of Technology to many students over the past decade, with over 20 co-authored papers. My crowning achievement in life was to meet my wife at 17 and marrying her by the age of 21. We have 2 thriving children.
