As the Manager of IT, it is my responsibility to train the next group of leaders, by setting the example for them on how to collaborate as much as possible with other departments, work around obstacles to reach the desired outcome, and build a good working relationship with the rest of the company to support all users in our mutual goal of providing a great product to our customers.Conflict resolution, personnel management, and protecting the work/life balance of my team are just some of the smaller but equally important parts of this role. Ensuring that all members of the team were on the same page, everybody was equipped to reach their goal, and morale was at a healthy level was a constant chore but well worth the effort to ensure maximum productivity on the IT team.

As IT Supervisor, I get to be directly involved in the growth and development of the IT team. I take pride in training my team and ensuring they are able to provide the best customer service to our crewmembers, while allowing them to expand their skills. Responsible for purchasing all IT assets, I've been able to save the company hundreds of thousands of dollars on an annual basis, with over $300,000 in savings in 2019 alone - my first year on the team. By improving the pilot iPad program, I've managed to streamline the purchase, programming, and issuing process for mobile devices, saving countless hours of labor for IT and reducing costs for the company, as well as improving functionality for the users at the same time.By standardizing the equipment used in our airport locations, I have made it easier for our team to prepare for rapid expansion and growth within the company as JSX expands to more locations around the country. As a Tactical Data Network Specialist, my job was to ensure the swift deployment of secure computer networks in a forward position, often in combat zones, to provide maximum communications capabilities for my unit and adjacent units.
