Principal Staff Engineer
CurrentDesign, leadership and management of engineering projects for new and existing electrical switching stations and substation from conceptual to closeout while adhering to scope, schedule and budget.Responsibilities Include:- Aid in civil/site and structural engineering design of electrical substation and switching stations including 4 breaker 230kV AIS ring bus, 7 breaker 69kV AIS ring bus, 7 breaker 69kV and 230kV GIS stations. Project life cycle coordination from concept to design, construction and completion.- Civil/site/structural engineering design of existing site retrofit projects and new site projects (brownfields and greenfields) for substations (air insulated and gas insulated switchgear), generating stations, and switching stations 4kV – 500kV. Projects range from 1-5 years & $5-$350 million.- Aid in design and construction of federally mandated high security projects from $1-$30 million.- Engineering design of on-shore wind interconnection/substation projects.- Review and coordinate design packages, technical deliverables, standards/specifications, and permitting packages developed internally and externally by A/EOR from concept to closeout.- Develop, direct, and maintain engineering requirements, bids, budgets, schedules, SOW, RFIs, RFPs, project specifications, permitting drawing packages, detail design packages, fabricators, and consultant services procurement. - Create and review proposals, structural engineering and civil/site engineering services, geotechnical analyses, and acoustical analyses.- Coordinate and support projects with review agencies (municipal, county, state, federal) for project specific engineering and permitting approvals.- Prepare and design grading, drainage and utility plans, soil erosion and sediment control plans, civil site plans, underground piping plans and profiles, stormwater management, permitting packages, detailed design packages, structural/MEP design plans/details, and construction plans/details.
