The Slugbotics team is UCSC's robotics organization which takes part in many technical projects throughout the year. From 2019 - 2022 I worked on the MATE underwater exploration challenge by writing both networking and autonomous code for our dive robot.Now I am working on the F1 TENTH competition by collaborating to make and race a fully autonomous RC car.

As an official instructor for UCSC and a member of Slugbotics, I acted as co-instructor for teaching new robotics members the necessary skills needed for contributing to the MATE project. My role was to handle the Git and computer vision modules. I accomplished this by designing an OpenCV project for object recognition and tracking in a live video feed.

Assisted the Jetson embedded software team by working with a mentor to build a tool from scratch for isolating board usage on a host through local container mounting. I worked with python and LXD to attach the virtual resources of a board to a container so that users would not be able to see and use other boards connected to the host. This system is self-sustainable through the use of udev monitoring to automatically manage devices that get added or removed from the system due to physically plugging/unplugging or re-enumeration of the numbers.

Worked as a part of the Infrastructure team for the Jetson embedded software, Linux 4 Tegra. I accomplished developing and integrating two CI/CD pipeline code checks. The first on checks for correct bash formatting and possible logic faults that could lead to crashes. The second on checks for the presence of the correct license on all submitted software. Both checks would prevent code approval from going through if they failed, and passing them leads to ultimately stronger and more secure code without the need for human review.

Assisted in teaching children 7-14 years old the fundamentals of programming, with an emphasis on JavaScript applied for game development.
