Brain Gain Hawaii (BGH) is a boutique recruitment and consulting firm specializing in senior management and executive search and placement. In order to reduce the "Brain Drain", BGH also focuses on helping Hawaii expats that are trying to return home and want to navigate the local opportunities with an inside perspective and connection. We are primarily referral based and have decades of relationships in all industries and locations. We also specialize in candidate/management/executive career coaching, non profit board and volunteer matching and community leadership development. On the consulting side we have decades of experience in outsourcing, offshoring and BPO and can guide and help companies implement these programs.

Greater Good Inc was started as an initiative to promote social entrepreneurship and to bring greater engagement between the for profit and non profit business sectors. It started off as a radio show and internet podcast and expanded to articles in the Star Bulletin, MidWeek, Pacific Edge Magazine, Technology News Bytes and other publications. Next was Greater Good TV which aired on KGMB9/CBS and won a Telly Award for daytime programming. Last came the Greater Good Book which spent a short time as a Hawaii bestseller. Other awards include the SBA Region IX Small Business Journalist of the Year. We did our last interview a few years ago however we are now working on Greater Good 2.0. This will be an initiative to bring together business people, non profit organizations, military and government to collaborate on public-private partnerships. In 2015 our family launched our venture which we called the Menehunes. What started off as a YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/menehunes and blog www.menehunes.net evolved into becoming the youngest team to ever win a Startup Weekend https://startupweekend.org/ and placing 2nd in the Global Startup Battle http://www.techstars.com/content/uncategorized/announcing-the-2015-global-startup-battle-champions/. For that we created www.menehunes.co to highlight our venture. The Menehunes are now focused on travel, food, entrepreneurship and makeup.

If Ad2 http://www.ad2honolulu.org/about-the-service/ and Startup Weekend www.http://startupweekend.org/ had a baby it would be ADUP Hawaii...a one day competition where marketing professionals donate their skills and time to create a pro bono marketing campaign for Hawaii 501c3 non profit organizations. The 2017 winner will earn over $100,000+ in cash and media placements and services for their non profit organization.

My wife and worked on this public private partnership between the Hawaii DOE, private schools, military, charitable foundations and parents to create this portal with all the schools in Hawaii from preschool to 12th grade. Unfortunately, this project launched right in the beginning of the great recession and ended up being mothballed. It works, but hasn't been updated in a while due to lack of funds.
