Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) is Australia's largest child health research institute, ranked among the top three globally for research quality and impact.

As Head of Finance for the multimillion-dollar arts company and creative incubator, I have steered the business through an ever-changing environment and enabled a period of exponential growth. Building a highly capable, technology-enabled finance function from the ground-up, I continue to hold full P&L responsibility, oversee end-to-end financial management and continuous drive opportunities for improvement, including streamlining of systems and business procedures. As an executive business partner, I provide strategic advice to the CEO, Board and 12 executive peers. I also lead engagement with local, national and international stakeholders, including government officials, agents and tax authorities, plus partners, investors and employees. Over 10 years, I have played a key role in building Circa into a multimillion-dollar, internationally recognised physical theatre company with more than 100 employees. Initiatives include a business model decentralisation project and deployment of a cloud-based ERP/CRM platform (Oracle NetSuite) that provided strategic alignment across diverse project portfolios and simpler, more dynamic, process-driven methodology. My team has also ensured timely financial forecasts for up to 56 project budgets across 6 business units and 66 operation cash accounts in 5 major currencies, and year on year, we have achieved statutory compliance at federal and state levels in 15 countries.Our industry, business and employees were devastated by the COVID-19 crisis. In support, I was proud to lead the development application of financial countermeasures to help Circa retain more than 80% of its workforce.

Building BSharp from the ground-up, I focused service quality and excellence to secure new and loyal clients, and over time, diversified my accounting firm to include a plethora of value add services, including support with business planning, cash-flow projections, start-up business strategy, business valuation and due diligence for acquisitions. Throughout, I managed all aspects of small business and for client, held financial responsibility for multimillion-dollar revenue lines of behalf of clients. My team included three finance professionals, and to support my client objectives, I built a strong network of investors and funding providers, federal, state and local regulators, and creditors and debtors. My success stemmed from adding value, quickly identifying requirements and building customised solutions. For instance, I developed a 4-year international market plan strategy for Globaltech Group, including a detailed per-unit COGS model, with results later used by KPMG to prepare a business valuation for potential investment. I also prepared financial and business models to enable businesses to secure start-up capital and consolidate liabilities and debt, and in some cases, helped organisations recover from threats of insolvency.
