HOW is a movement that promotes tolerance through music in schools. Its pilot project is a musical called A Simple Twist of Faith, which Malach co-wrote and produced. The show is about the power of kindness and the impact simple acts can make on humanity. Stone/Angel, an indie rock band is the brainchild of Toronto actor/writer/musician Evan Malach who recruited guitar maven Rich “Stokes” Grossman to form the unique project in 2008. Born out of Revolution Rising, a protest song EP that shed light on global human rights abuses, the seasoned partnership has grown and flourished through many performances, studio sessions, and tours around the world. Evan had met Stokes through a mutual friend and shared some quirky songs from In Adequacy the rock musical he had written, produced and starred in festivals across Canada the previous summer. Stokes sensed a more mature songwriting sensibility in the songs from the new EP and the partnership was born. From the Vault , a second EP came soon after. Stone/Angel’s first album What Still Could Be was released to a full house at the Cadillac Lounge in Toronto in 2010. Malach’s skill as a songwriter and vocalist on What Still Could Be caught the attention of Grammy-winning producer Malcolm Burn (Daniel Lanois, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris). Burn invited Malach down to his Victorian mansion in Woodstock, New York for their next recording project. At Toronto’s Nuit Blanche, Malach met Burn’s mentor Daniel Lanois, (legendary producer of U2, Peter Gabriel, Neil Young) and told him of plans for a new album. Lanois replied “You’re in good hands…” Soon after, Malach and Stokes headed down to Woodstock to begin work on the second album, capitalizing on a narrow window of opportunity Burn had to record. The new project Along the Endless Highway features compelling cross-rock tunes written by Malach, the stunning timbre of Stokes’ guitar mastery, and the inimitable wizardly production style of Burn. The new album is sure to wow listeners across the globe. Stone/Angel continues hustling the indie rock scene with the permanent additions of drummer Jeremy Kleynhans (Rebel Emergency) and bassist Tyler Emond (Hylia) helping to complete the soundscape.

Second Chance Travel aims to send youth who have overcome hardship on global travel and Volun-Tourism adventures. Second Chance Travel was founded in 2011 when within a few days of Evan returning from volunteering at Camp Oochigeas for kids with cancer, Evan discovered the American Express Room for Thought contest online. Initiated as part of the Realize the Potential campaign, Room for Thought called on Canadians to share their unique vision and turn their dreams into reality.Submissions were accepted in three categories: Community, Music, and Travel and Adventure. Of the hundreds of ideas submitted, Second Chance Travel won the Travel and Adventure category! The prize was $10,000 and mentorship from a Canadian expert in each of the respective fields. Les Stroud from the television program Les Stroud was Evan’s mentor in the Travel and Adventure category. Each winner worked with the mentor to present the idea in a physical space in Toronto, launching the idea into action. Hundreds of people got in on the adventure, taking virtual tours of Kenya, Ecuador, and Nepal and getting survival tips from Les and inspiring stories from Evan.The next step in the genesis of Second Chance Travel happened in Jerusalem during the 2012 PresenTense Global Summer Institute, an accelerator program that brought together entrepreneurs from around the world to develop their businesses. Evan was one of sixteen international social innovators invited to take part in the 6-Week crash course in developing and running a social business.During the Fellowship, Evan developed the concept for Thrive Tours, a business would cater to not only people who have endured significant hardship, but anyone looking for an outlet for personal growth through travel and volunteering.

Evaluated over 400 submissions for artists applying for recording and creation grants from the Ontario government. Worked on a diverse team to choose the worthy recipients.

Managed operations at Whistler Medals Plaza during the Olympics. Ensured safety, security, and enjoyment of patrons, volunteers, athletes, and artists during medal awards and concerts. During Paralympics, was stationed at downhill skiing venue.
