Hey there, I'm Evan 👋🏻Professionally, I've been on both sides of the table in the software world. For first 7 years of my career I was a startup founder and operator in B2B SaaS, primarily focused on edtech and sales/marketing tech. Since then, I've been learning and building in the world of venture capital and growth equity. The common thread in my career is my passion for technology and entrepreneurship.I joined Georgian in 2019 to create and launch the CoLab, Georgian's nurture program for early-stage startups. My role expanded in 2020 to lead our business development and deal sourcing function overall, working closely with our data science team to evolve our deal sourcing engine. In 2021 I took on a new role to build out Georgian's fundraising and investor relations team. I'm fortunate to work closely with our existing and prospective investors, and I'm focused on taking Georgian's LP experience to the next level with a digital-first mindset.Personally, I'm an athlete and sports fan (hockey, skiing, golf, MMA, you name it) and an amateur but enthusiastic musician. Co-Founder, Head Of ProductEprof Education Inc. Jun 2012 - Jul 2014Co-founded eProf.com, an education technology company. eProf was a first-mover in the education commerce space. As a company, we built the first software-as-a-service platform that allowed education businesses to promote and sell their blended online courses (synchronous and asynchronous content) within a white-labeled online storefront. We targeted educators and businesses looking to leverage the web to reach new students and grow revenues.eProf raised $250k in funding over the first two years of operations, and scaled to a team as large as 10. For the first 18 months, we worked out of the MaRS Discovery District in downtown Toronto. We built and sold eProf as a subscription software platform and had over 1000 accounts created, with 50 paying customers from across the world. eProf helped facilitate over 3000 synchronous online learning sessions over two years.Despite building a really interesting product, we never found true product-market fit for eProf, and we shut down the company after 2.5 years. We came away with many hard knocks and lessons learned, which I will be forever thankful for.

FounderMindpuck.Ca Oct 2011 - Jan 2013MindPuck was an online media hub focused on serving up the most entertaining content from the world of hockey. I created MindPuck in my third year of university, as a way to share my passion for the game.MindPuck was the first brand and WordPress website that I ever created - it was a really fun first step into the world of tech and entrepeneurship. The site gained considerable popularity in its lifetime with over 45,000 unique visitors from all continents in just over 15 months. As the founder, I put together a contributor staff of 4 core writers and 6 intern students. I personally wrote over 1500 posts for the site, the majority coming in the 2011-2012 NHL season. I redesigned the site after learning to code, but made the decision to shut it down after the NHL lockout hit in 2012-2013. I never made any money from MindPuck, but I gained valuable experience and kickstarted my career in tech.
