When my daughter was born in 2014, I very quickly identified the need for a product that could solve several key pain points:* Help my daughter sleep at night* Keep me from having to chase pacifiers when she threw them* Allow me to easily bring extra pacifiers and other small items with us on the goFrom these pain points as a new father, Snuggin was born. A breakthrough product designed to resolve the pain points mentioned, Snuggin has set me off on my first true entrepreneurial journey.

Hibernia Networks was a privately held provider of global capacity telecommunication services with low-latency transatlantic fiber networks. As the Global Infrastructure Manager I was responsible for the oversight and planning of Hibernia’s global IT infrastructure including staff, budget, datacenters, and offices across North America, Europe, and Asia until their $580M acquisition by GTT. Driving process improvements and cost efficiencies company-wide through the use of Agile project management with a focus on Kanban methodologies, implementation of advanced automation systems using configuration management and key technologies such as Microsoft Lync, Sharepoint, and IT processes built according to ITIL and ISO 20000 standards.

The League of Professional System Administrators (LOPSA) is a non-profit corporation with members throughout the world. Their mission is to advance the practice of system administration; to support, recognize, educate, and encourage its practitioners; and to serve the public through education and outreach on system administration issues.As a member of the Board of Directors I oversaw the financial operations of the organization, identified ways to promote financial and membership growth, and served as a leader within the industry's premier professional organization.

The Baltimore chapter of LOPSA, aka the Crabby Admins, is a group of technology professionals in the Baltimore metro region. As co-founder I started with a vision and acted on it to put together a group of the area's best and brightest IT professionals who come together each month to exchange war stories, share knowledge, and advance the profession of systems administration.

LOPSA-East is an annual regional conference for IT Professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region. As the Program Chair I was responsible for the execution of the conference from start to finish, including speaker procurement, scheduling, marketing, and committee leadership.

Valador is a federal contracting company located in Northern Virginia working with numerous federal clients including the Department of Defense (DOD), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and Veteran Affairs (VA). As a member of the management team at Valador my duties included oversight of the support team managing the internal IT infrastructure, identifying and pursuing business development opportunities, budget management, and acting as a consultant to their clients, providing technical expertise in the deployment of cutting edge solutions.Responsibilities included the management of IT programs and personnel in addition to the internal IT infrastructure of company spanning the United States. Lead team of system administrators and engineers both internally and employed as part of several contracts. Internal infrastructure built on Windows Server 2008 Active Directory domain with hybrid of Windows and CentOS servers. Maintain all core systems including Exchange 2010, DHCP, DNS, IIS 7.0, MS SQL 2008, MySQL, production and development LAMP web development environments. Project manager for ISO 20000 certification. Rebuilt backup system from the ground up to add proper redundancy to all IT systems at a significantly reduced cost.Key Contributions & Accomplishments:• ISO 20000 Certification Attainment – Successfully managed ISO 20000 certification project, properly aligning IT processes with needs of the business and according to the certification standards.• IT Infrastructure Virtualization – 90% of IT servers migrated to VMware ESXi virtualization platform, reducing infrastructure overhead costs and improving overall system stability while reducing physical footprint.• Workstation Deployment Solution – Deployed imaging solution using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Windows Deployment Services to deploy Windows 7 workstations, reducing time required to prep new systems by more than 80%.

Performed market segment analysis of the Civil Finance market, identifying key trends for business development by the emerging Cyber Technologies team. Briefed sr. level execs and developed presentations for their use in market strategy meetings.

Responsible for all systems, offices, and end users in North America (6 offices and around 100 users). Primary objectives include the maintenance of Baltimore datacenter, account provisioning, and SharePoint, end user, VoIP, and application management. Heterogeneous datacenter environment utilizing a variety of hardware, software, and virtualization solutions.Key Contributions & Accomplishments:• Microsoft Exchange Upgrade – Upgraded single server Exchange 2003 environment to a clustered Exchange 2010 environment that simplified administration, improved performance, and increased uptime dramatically.• Windows Active Directory Migration– Migrated Windows Server 2003 Active Directory environment to fully functional 2008 AD domain, across six domain controllers.• Award Recipient – Recognized as Employee of the Quarter for Q1 2011 for exceptional service. Also awarded for being top performer in a company-wide contest designed to increase collaboration and interaction between offices & departments.

Responsibilities included the management of a mixed Windows and RedHat/CentOS server environment. Managed various areas of support including network connectivity, account provisioning, email (Exchange 2003), and Windows XP and 7 installation, configuration, and upgrade issues. Handle all end user issues locally and remotely using both Windows XP/7 and Mac OS X. Managed Cisco VPN tunnel for end users using RSA authentication. Responsibilities included the planning, implementation, and management of key IT infrastructures at hotels across North America. Collaborated with sites to design IT infrastructures that would meet all of their needs including server, storage, and network infrastructures. Deployed a wide variety of complex technical IT solutions ranging from single server environments to fully redundant clustered application servers backended to Oracle Real Application Cluster databases in a highly available environment.
