Cognosante provides services in support of the Military OneSource Program for military members and their families. This program offers a broad array of information, resources, referrals, and counseling to about 4.7 million persons or “participants,” which includes military service members, their families, and eligible civilians at locations worldwide. Field Consultants travel throughout their state and/or region, as directed, and approved by MC&FP (Military Community and Family Policy), to support events that increase awareness of military community services, collaborate with existing family support resources, identify recommendations to address service gaps, and form relationships with community service providers, military services, and regional and local representatives. Field consultants will support Service members and families from all Components with special emphasis on those who are geographically isolated from installation support.

The outreach team travels across Nevada, attending various community events, meetings, and gatherings. The goal is to ensure every Nevada Veteran and family member, no matter where they live, have information and access to benefits and services that enrich their lives. We assist veterans in preparing and submitting claims for benefits, providing skilled nursing care, providing dignified burial support, and successfully reintegrating those transitioning into Nevada communities. We manage Southern and Northern Nevada's Nevada Veterans Advocate (NVA) program. An NVA is a person who helps educate active military members, guard and reserve members, Veterans, and their families about benefits and opportunities they may be eligible to pursue.

Through the U.S. Dept. of Labor Jobs for Veterans State Grants (JVSG), I assist disabled veterans with significant barriers to employment with job placement. Providing intensive services to meet the needs of disabled veterans and other eligible veterans, with a major emphasis on serving those who are financially and educationally limited. This includes, veterans who are homeless and veterans who have been unable to obtain employment due to barriers and especially those who face homelessness.
