I played the role of a Contractor. I oversaw the renovations and repair works of a residential home. The repair works included waterproofing of walls and floors that had undergone structural damage which involved removal and re-installation tiles. The renovation works included installation of tiles where they did not exist, installation of gypsum, mahogany skirtings and repainting of the whole house.

I played the role of the Project Quantity Surveyor whereby I drafted the Bills of Quantities for Gikondi Enterprises Limited which was used in the construction of the proposed project.

I played the role of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.We carried out damage assessment for houses resting along the Railway line that suffered structural damage due to blasting during excavation. The purpose of this exercise was to determine the extent of the damages caused by the blast using the Civil Engineers input and my input as a Quantity Surveyor was to determine how much the owners of each household would be compensated.

I played the role of assistant Quantity Surveyor in the Tharaka NithiCounty Spatial plan. This is where a team of professionals, including Planners and Civil Engineers was contracted to carry out research on the various resources the county possesses and how best they can be put to use so as to maximize the county's potential. Mainly my role was to find out what the cost of exploiting these resources would be and also what resources the county lacks and where they source them from.
