Led the team that built and managed a suite of web applications used by partners to gain insight into their businesses. These applications presented actionable data in a timely manner and in a highly usable way so that customers could make the most informed decisions. We delivered our applications using the tools that provided us with the greatest leverage in terms of development speed, extensibility, and robustness including Node.js, Angular 2, and a suite of AWS services (e.g. Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)

As an independent consultant, I helped companies of all sizes build and manage their web and mobile applications. I typically provided my clients with both technical direction as well as product feedback. In addition, I led teams of developers (both on-site and remote) by providing clear prioritization of projects, removing obstacles, and gathering information they needed in order to be successful.

Wrote code (mostly in Java and Perl) for a variety of teams across the worldwide retail technology group.As one of the earliest engineers on Amazon Prime, I addressed scalability and performance issues resulting from a very successful launch in the US, helped internationalize the service so that it could launch in Japan and France, and developed new features and benefits for customers.

As an individual contributor, I built features for several areas across the retail website including Search & Browse, Amazon Associates (links from third-party websites to Amazon), and Amazon Anywhere (Amazon's very first foray into e-commerce on mobile devices).As a manager, I provided mentorship, technical direction, and career guidance for the developers on my team. I also served as an advocate for my team members during group-wide promotion discussions and sought to ensure that their significant contributions were recognized and rewarded.
