Jennifer Evans is a banker with more than 25 years’ experience in end-to-end banking. She has held senior roles across ANZ operations in Australia, Asia, New Zealand, Europe and the US. She was appointed Chief Risk Officer Australia and Global Head of Retail Credit in April 2013. Jennifer is part of ANZ Australia’s Leadership Team as well as the Global Risk Leadership Team. In her role she is focused on the ongoing effective risk management of the Australian business that has $550 billion of funds under management. Other areas of focus include the global regulatory environment, in particular the Basel reforms; the Australian housing market; and the bank's technology infrastructure and digital strategy. Jennifer was appointed to the board of Esanda Finance Corporation Limited in 2014 and has held a number of other board positions with ANZ Bank Europe Limited (ANZBEL); Direct Broking Limited and the Victorian State Board of Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance (now part of FINSIA). Previously, Jennifer was Chief Risk Officer of ANZ New Zealand (Int'l) Limited from 2010-2012 where she had responsibility for wholesale and retail credit risk, market, operating and compliance risk. She has held other senior roles within the bank including four years as Chief Operating Officer, ANZ Europe & America, based in London where she was responsible for wholesale and retail credit risk, market, operating and compliance risk. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science from Monash University and is a Senior Fellow at the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia). She recently completed ANZ leadership development training by Duke University in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
