I play an active role as Treasurer in managing the internationally recognized tourism corporation in southern Arizona, the O.K. Corral Museum and Tombstone Epitaph Newspaper. With gross receipts of over $1,000,000 annually and more than 100,000 visitors passing through our doors, I have a hand in day-to-day problem-solving in areas ranging from advertising and branding, social media, building construction and maintenance, staffing, trademark protection, retail sales. As a board member of the Tombstone Historama Corporation, I am involved with setting long-range strategic directions, financial planning, and community outreach. My current projects involve upgrading our corporate website and coordinating a new photographic exhibition.

As an academic tutor, I develop customized learning programs and provide private, individualized tutoring sessions aimed at fostering a strong sense of confidence and curiosity. My strong background in the life sciences has lead me to focus primarily on helping students with coursework such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and MCAT preparation. My methods are built upon evidence-based practices and strategies that enable students to reach their full academic potential, whether it’s through remedial support or targeted enrichment. This passion translates into instructional strategies tailored to fit each individual’s learning needs and goals.

As the Innovator-In-Residence I used human-centered design to improve the healthcare experience for patients and frontline providers. My work primarily focused on helping health systems like the Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital re-think patient care, staff engagement, and their strategic plans through utilizing the creative design process. Working openly and collaboratively, always with patients and staff at the center of my work, I focused on innovative solutions for projects large and small related to engagement, outcomes, quality, and happiness.

Integrating experimental economics with cognitive neuroscience, I help conduct studies that use economic models of decision-making as a framework to better to understand how neural activity results in an emergent cognitive capacity for economic behavior. Our research protocols include economic paradigms in both real and virtual settings, and combine non-invasive neuroimaging techniques with computer-based simulations to evaluate event-based brain region activity. My most recent research project at CSN has been exploring the impacts of oxytocin on trust and risk taking behavior.

As a Medical Scribe with Emergency Medicine Associates, I acted as a physician collaborator fulfilling the primary organizational and non-clinical functions of the doctor. I regularly helped with medical data entry into our electronic medical record system (Allscripts) and in instituting efficient workflow process -- thus increasing the capacity to provide direct patient care like seeing the next waiting patient, performing medical procedures, and communicating with nursing staff. I also helped to monitor the duration of medical testing results (such as blood and urine tests, x-ray, and CT reports) in order to prevent unnecessary delays and expedite patient dispositioning.

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad is a volunteer EMS organization that serves over 94,000 households in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Glen Echo, and Upper Northwest Washington, D.C. and provides the community with high quality fire, rescue, and emergency medical services.

HTO is a Washington-based outdoor gear retailer specializing in products from backpacking and mountaineering, to biking, kayaking, skiing, and fishing. I worked at Hudson Trail Outfitters in both the bike shop (repairing and selling bicycles) and the outdoor adventure section (helping customers find the right camping, mountaineering, and climbing gear).

As an EMS organization that responds to nearly 1,800 calls each year, MVAA offers a wide variety of services and provides high levels of care to approximately 18,000 people within a 370 square mile Vermont service area.
