For over four years I have been working closely with children and their families struggling from severe traumas. I’ve utilized TF-CBT along with family and play therapeutic techniques to assist my clients in finding ways to move forward from the trauma they have experienced. My current role as a School-based Mental Health Therapist has been exciting and challenging. I’m working with my clinic to create our first adopt-a-school program starting with a public school located in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. Within this role, I am providing therapy and doing assessments with students and their families. I am also conducting a needs assessment for teachers, school leadership, and students. This will be done through surveys geared towards these separate systems within the school to develop groups and psychoeducation to address where support is most needed.
