EJ has navigated a diverse career path, spanning electrical engineering, entrepreneurship, and academia. With experience working for industry leaders like Elon Musk and Mark Cuban, EJ has practiced the full spectrum of product engineering, business ownership, and operational excellence. During his time at Tesla Motors in Palo Alto, CA, EJ contributed to the development of the all-wheel-drive Model S powertrain as well as initial specification design for the Model 3 powertrain. His time at Mark Cuban Companies in Dallas taught him valuable business and investment insights in the startup industry. As VP of Engineering at Cuban's startup, Radical Transport, EJ designed, built, and brought to market the MOOV hoverboard with just a small team of two engineers. Today, EJ enjoys the irony of owning 17 Jiffy Lube service centers while also educating the next generation of electric vehicle engineers at Purdue University. Under his leadership, Indiana Auto Care (a Jiffy Lube franchise group) has grown to a team of 140 employees who service 150k vehicles annually across Indiana and Ohio. EJ’s efforts led to the doubling of revenue and tripling of profits in just 4 years. At Purdue, EJ was hired by the Mechanical Engineering Department as a part-time lecturer to establish the first Electric Vehicle Design class offered on campus. EJ's students design and build electric go-karts to compete in the annual evGrand Prix competition.
