The BUREK Initiative is an oral history archive collecting and statistically analyzing testimony from the Balkan conflicts. Full interview transcripts are published online. Utilizing tools from computational linguistics, we are analyzing embedded sentiment in interviews to identify key policy issues around ethnic reconciliation and post-conflict transition. In addition, we are partnering with NGOs and universities in the US and abroad to incorporate interview transcripts in curricula and local projects.•Conduct interviews with war survivors. •Translate, edit, and prepare final interview transcripts for publication•Manage a team of seven, including three interns, to coordinate interviews, research initiatives, social media content, and community outreach.•Build partnerships with Balkan organizations to recruit interviewees and expand the Initiative's reach•Manage back-end security and logistical concerns for working with sensitive populations

Analyze developing political situations and ongoing programmatic efforts in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Selected as a Fulbright Research Scholar to grant support to investigate the long-term effects of conflict on political engagement in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Methods include archival research, empirical analysis, and interviews conducted in BCS. Products include interviews published on www.theburekinitiative.org, a working research paper preparing for journal submission, and numerous conference presentations.

The Lab on Non-Democratic Politics (LNDP) is led by Dr. Erin Baggott Carter and Dr. Brett Carter at School of International Relations at the University of Southern California. We are researching foreign lobbying activity documented under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) passed in 1938. Wish of a Lifetime is a Denver-based non-profit organization that grants lifelong wishes to senior citizens. •Selected as youngest-ever board member to read and vet wish applications to determine whether or not they would be granted by the organization •Organized over 50 wishes, ranging from sending senior citizens skydiving to reuniting family members separated during the Holocaust •Helped to organize a social media campaign that spanned six continents in three months with over 2,000 responses from 90 countries and all 50 US states•Obtained in-kind financial and service donations from local businesses to fund individual wishes and company events Awards:•Inaugural Volunteer of the Month, September 2012
