FreedomLab is a cross-over innovation hub operating at the crossroads of society and technology. We facilitate debate and aim to shed new perspectives on current affairs with our thinktank, innovation hub and public events, such as our Future Affairs events and our extreme scenario sessions.Featured in WIRED as the place to visit in Amsterdam: 'FreedomLab is part co-working space, part innovation campus, part library, part café. In a small, multi-disciplinary team, we designed, prototyped and piloted an innovation laboratory focused on activating creativity in people and innovation in complex problem solving. The process design was based on the model of so-called 'living labs': a research methodology developed at MIT. The project involved the research and design of an optimal third-space environment, process for creative problem-solving based on design thinking and formulation of a specific, team-based culture. Encouraged to be radical, we developed a 'pure' model far from commonly experienced corporate innovation environments with a human-centred approach to tasks which allowed us to explore a different way of working, which we called 'the future of work'. For this program I was the delegate of AIESEC The Netherlands in Malaysia. We exchanged knowledge, facilitated trainings to see where and how to increase the impact of AIESEC in Malaysia and strengthened relations with NGOs and corporate partners.
