I founded SETA*lite Consulting in 2009 to provide for myself and some similarly minded folks a flexible IT consulting operation while I was a fulltime visiting assistant professor at GWU. With SETA*lite we have been able to provide highly responsive and focused consulting to several small and medium-sized companies with government contracts. I keep the consultancy active as a vehicle to go after work that interests me when it falls outside the scope of my other employers.Most of SETA*lite's work has been systems engineering and enterprise architecture related and primarily for the defense / intelligence sector. We also have been involved in governance, portfolio management, geospatial standards, IT policies, enterprise solutioning, leadership of technical organizations, enterprise risk management, change management, change and vision planning, and holistic support to CxO staffs.

Retired as an O6 IMA from OUSD(I) where I provided senior programmatic guidance on GEOINT and innovation. My 38 year military career included several mobilizations to active duty and a wealth of experience in intelligence analysis and operations, program development, and agency level IT investment oversight.Before my last assignment I was an IMA to the Technical Director of AFC2IC, chief of automation at JCS/J26/J2T (OIF, OEF), a senior watch officer at NMJIC, NORAD, and US Space Command, an imagery analyst at DIA and SAC, a C-5A jet mechanic, an F-4D Fire Control technician, and an F-105 camera systems mechanic for the New Jersey Air Guard.

When they acquired my previous employer, the highly focused intelligence technology firm Advanced Systems Research, they seamlessly transitioned us into some very influential work with their primary government customers. WMA is an INCOSE founding chapter and home to many of the federal departments and independent agencies acquiring systems for the US Government as well as many leading high-technology, commercial firms that consider systems engineering a competitive advantage. ASR was a wonderful, small engineering company that let me define the corporate program for systems engineering and aligned me with challenging agency IT governance work with their key customers. At ASR I was also involved in enterprise architecting and MASINT/GEOINT support for the local three letter agencies.

Image Matters LLC is an aggressive and capable start-up aimed at bringing innovative geospatial technologies to the federal marketplace. IM put me in charge of defense and IC business development and we were able to deliver the first realized capability for geospatial semantic reasoning in federal government. We defined the USAF's Web 2.0 semantic technology roadmap. We also helped to define the geospatial profile of the Federal Enterprise Architecture for homeland security and a full scope IT modernization plan for the Secret Service.
