About Evelien Docherty

I am a journalist with marketing communications skills and a background in editing. I started writing about parenthood when I became a mum. After building an article track record of tackling tantrums and other toddler trades, one particularly personal piece about the emergency caesarean of my son led me to a focus I find incredibly fascinating: maternity issues. Birth happens 353,000 a day. There's a lot to say about it. And a lot to change about it. Which is why I also passionately advocate for a better birth experience for all at Make Birth Better in my role as Communications Lead and Interim CEO.
