I have lived in Nashville for 20 years. Previous to my work with the State, I spent a few years volunteering as a community organizer assistant at the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, where I had the opportunity to make a difference in my community. With a desire to continue making a difference in the community, I enhanced my education by graduating with a master’s degree in criminal justice administration. I began my career with the Office of the Post-Conviction Defender as a legal assistant in the summer of 2013. In 2015, I was promoted to the role of paralegal. This new position allowed me to get to know my clients as human beings and serve them more meaningfully. I realize that everyone has a story to tell and that “each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve ever done.” (Bryan Stevenson). I value serving others and am grateful for being part of a team that is committed to providing high-quality legal representation to indigent men and women on death row and treating them with compassion and respect. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, mission work, and hiking with my two little dogs.
