Evelyn Davidson is a Community Reporter for The Macon Melody at The Macon Melody. Colleagues describe her as "Evelyn served as an intern for my news organization, the Henrico Citizen, in Henrico County, Virginia in the summer of 2023. During her time with us, Evelyn covered a wide variety of topics and issues and did so with the type of thoughtfulness, depth and perspective that is rare among young journalists. That ability to think like a journalist is a talent that I hold in high regard among those in our industry who have it, because it is not a skill that exists within every journalist. Evelyn demonstrated that she does have it, and it will serve her well as she continues in her journalistic career. Her natural inquisitive nature and a determination to get to the bottom of some complicated and difficult issues were evident during her internship. Evelyn is someone who believes strongly in the importance of journalism and its role in society, and her passion for the work and what it means to those it serves also was evident to me. She was eager to digest as much information as she could, and it was apparent that she used that knowledge as the summer progressed.
