I am a 2021 honors graduate of the University of Connecticut where I earned a B.S. in Public Health. It was at UConn that I was introduced to data science. In my junior year, I was assigned to read "Everybody Lies" by Seth Stephens-Davidwitz. This book highlights how the vast amount of online data can uncover secrets about human behavior that would otherwise not be revealed. I was immediately fascinated by these data-driven insights. In my next semester, I began taking programming and advanced statistics courses outside of my major and pivoted my honors thesis research to a data science-based project, which eventually became a published article in Nutrients. As a self-motivated learner, I sought to explore the field of data science and gain hands-on experience building machine learning models through Metis's immersive 14-week bootcamp. At Metis, I became a data interpreter, turning large datasets into valuable insights through the creation of summarized analysis, story-telling visualizations, and interactive media.I relish the opportunity to delve into the complexities of social, sustainable, and business challenges with a technical lens while prioritizing the engagement and understanding of diverse audiences. Curious and enthusiastic, I rapidly learn new domains and bring an innovative and adaptable mindset to evidence-based, multidisciplinary problem solving. Most importantly, I am motivated by the opportunity to continue learning in the ever-changing field of data science.
