As a New Scotland Yard detective, during 30yrs I acquired a range of skills, managing situations and people in times of crisis, bereavement, conflict and tension working in homicide investigation, fraud and financial investigations.A significant amount of time in policing for the MPS was spent working in partnership with the Home Office, Crown Prosecution service, Crown Office, HMRC, Financial Conduct Authority and Serious Fraud Office to deliver high quality evidence from the UK for prosecutions in multiple foreign jurisdictions, to the specific requirements of each country. My last role, heading the Financial Crime and High Tech Team was intrinsic in managing stakeholders expectations, advising law enforcement unaccustomed to MLA, encouraging dialogue to deliver the best solutions for all partners. I led many multiagency MLA cases to ensure international partners received a quality evidential package from the UKCA. I worked with the Home Office on the European Investigation Order Implementation Project advising on MLA delivery by police and how new legislation could work in practice. On leaving the police I assisted the Home Office and then the National Police Chiefs Council years in UKCA to assist those carrying out judicial cooperation and the changing legislation and tools. I’m currently engaged in the Joint International Crime Centre as it embarks on a coordinated NCA and policing strategy to tackle international criminality assisting law enforcement navigate the various options and tools available.I have a passion for helping people achieve harmony by dealing positively with conflict. Achieving this is deeply satisfying for me and my main motivation for embarking on Mediation with my spare time.I am a certified mediator volunteering as a mediator and Trustee for Mediation Surrey.
