As the first science-focused student in my extended family, I grew up in a humble household in Indonesia, sheltered from the harshest struggles of poverty, political upheaval, and social injustices. This privilege gave me stability, but also a profound sense of responsibility as I navigate my life as a minority that faces subtle yet persistent political pressure with a lingering threat of losing my privilege. Driven by a strong commitment to using my education to foster meaningful change, I am now a final-year double-degree student in Human Physiology and Criminology at Monash University. My studies merge my love for biomedical science with a dedication to social justice, particularly in women’s autonomy, equality, rights, and addressing the systemic inequities and violence that disproportionately impact women. My values drive my passion in healthcare, where I strive to create an equitable system that transcend beyond barriers—geographic, socioeconomic status, gender, age, and beyond. The drive to find hope and healing is universal, yet countless individuals remained underserved due to these structural inequities.
