I used to do programming and art. Then I started visualizing data.In the process, I had to learn that my dashboards were hardly ever used. Even though I had fulfilled the requirements, they were technically flawless, looked great and all the best practices had been implemented.I realized that, firstly, everyone else had the same problem and, secondly, the status quo of data visualisation was simply not working to make business data accessible to non-analysts.I didn't want to settle for that and set out on a journey to find out why. In the process, I also looked with open eyes for solutions in related fields such as design and psychology. Finally, I applied design thinking to data and took the first steps in the right direction.My projects became more and more successful. I became confident that my methods were actually working, and I enjoyed working as a data designer within my client's teams.After my method was proven and I received wonderful feedback from the users, I founded the Chart Doktor Data Product School together with Christoph Nieberding.Today, we advise and train data analysts from international corporations such as Celonis, enabling them to significantly increase their usage rates.We love to improve and are constantly refining our methods with dedication and enthusiasm.
