I am currently a master's degree student in the Professional and Technical Communications program at the University of North Texas (UNT) looking for a new role as a technical writer. I also received my BA in English and certification in Technical Communication from UNT. In the graduate course TECM 5200: Digital Content Strategies for Communication Professionals, I collaborated with a group of 3 other students to conduct a content audit for a real client. We analyzed 51 internal guides to create a content strategy for their company. I am a technical writer at PPG Paints. I mostly write internal standard operating procedures for our manufacturing plant in Carrollton, Tx. For these procedures, I work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders. I used the content audit experience I gained in the graduate course while helping PPG prepare for a plant-wide audit. I completed a content audit on all of the manufacturing plant's on-the-job work instructions (OTJWIs). For the audit, I created new OTJWIs and revised existing procedures to ensure they were up to date. While I am a new technical writer, I have gained a lot of experience in my coursework and at PPG Paints. I am looking forward to working with you!
