I hold the position of Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO). As a Professor for Business Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO Valais) and (previously) Senior Lecturer in Computer Science in the Human-IST Institute of the University of Fribourg, my current research and teaching focus on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) with an emphasis on Data Visualization and Visual Analytics, as well as Business Process Management (BPM) applied in particular to the eGovernment domain. I am also Head of the 'Management of Information Systems' major in the HES-SO Master of Science in Business Administration.I co-founded datastory.ch - a data science and visualization startup - and Youser - a UX agency.I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Fribourg. My PhD research was centered on Personal Information Management. I used data mining and HCI approaches in order to explore how the users browse and analyze their personal information space.
