This job came up as an out of field opportunity and since I was interested in Information Technology as well as teaching I decided to give it a shot. I work within the Information Systems Department at the Alachua County Courthouse and do various tasks within the department. I am tasked with troubleshooting and repair of computer/printer hardware as well as working with the general public and attorneys in gaining access to the necessary information and tools they may need for a case or issue. This position is more general than specific as I do many tasks both within and outside of my official job description on a daily basis.

Upon finishing my degree in elementary education I took a job as a 3rd grade teacher. As a teacher I had many responsibilities and duties. The school I taught at serviced many students from low socioeconomic and disadvantaged backgrounds. Along with regular teaching responsibilities the 3rd grade required students be prepared to pass a rigorous state English language arts assessment at years end. I was required to use my knowledge and experience to identify early students whom posed the risk of not passing the assessment. I was tasked with placing these students on a strategic and highly monitored educational plan that would assist them in reaching proficiency. In this position I was regarded as a strong teacher with very good classroom/behavior management skills by my peers. I was rated effective and highly effective throughout my teaching career.

I was given the position of 21st Century Program Site Coordinator upon finishing my degree in education. I was tasked with taking a failing program and turning it around in one summer. As the program coordinator I was in charge of every aspect of the program including hiring, review, and if necessary termination of staff members. It was essential that I create and maintain and good image for the school, program, and the district. In the Summer of 2016 Our Town Magazine, did an article spread featuring my program at Alachua Elementary School.

Since I seemed to be good with technology and had an interest in instructional technology I was asked to be a school site technician. In this role I responsible for assisting school staff and teacher with their technology needs and coordinating repairs and replacements at the school as necessary. This experience lead me to make the decision to go back to school in pursuit of additional knowledge in technology and certifications I could use down the road.

This position was a training opportunity that would prepare me to become a 21st Century Program Site Coordinator at one of the districts schools. I was placed split between 2 schools; Myra Terwilliger Elementary and J.K. Rawlings Elementary to work alongside those program coordinators to hone my skills as an administrator for the districts 21st Century Program.

I was promoted to this position from my work in the school Districts 21st Century Programs. My role in this position was to work directly with elementary school students with disabilities. I was tasked with supporting these students and their parents/teacher with information, strategies, and methods that helped foster their growth in the classroom. In addition, I was given the role of working with other students at the school with known behavioral/emotional distresses that may prevent them from performing to their full potential. This role affording me the ability to gain valuable experience and knowledge in the area of special education and the laws thereof.

I educate primarily the middle/high school Youth on Biblical topics along with various History and Science that is also affiliated. We encourage the spiritual growth of students through the reading of Bible verses and teaching students how to participate and carry out various services such as the Eucharistic service. I assist in teaching the various Sunday school classes I also assist in planning and carrying out Youth activities such as fundraising and trips.

As a part of a grant funded program from the Department of Education I was hired to work with middle school students from disadvantaged backgrounds. My role in this position was primarily to support students in developing skills and furthering their personal growth that otherwise may not have the opportunity due to their backgrounds. I was responsible for planning and executing lessons and activities in various settings that where beneficial to each students needs. In addition, I managed and implemented effective strategies to manage student behavior. In this role I was also in charge of maintaining and reporting of student records. This position also placed me out in the local community for awareness and parental involvement events.
