President of the Evergreen Estates Neighborhood Association (EENA)-September 2009-Present. Have facilitated 18 acre Neighborhood Park clean up initiative for the last four years. Commenced collaboration efforts with local agencies, businesses, and educational institutions for the recruitment of at least 175 volunteers and donors (i.e. Target, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) to establish and maintain noble rapports with members and non-members of the association, and increasing safety awareness for residents.Co-founding member and chapter president of the American Institute of Architectural Students (AIAS) at Baker College of Flint from September 2010-April 2012. Implemented chapter policy and procedures, in addition to establishing chapter subcommittees (i.e. design and membership committees, etc.). Initiated design collaboration efforts with the Salem Housing Community Development Corporation. Served as the Chapter’s first student advisor, as well as mentored newly elected officers and committee chairpersons. Received Honorable mention in the 2010 Genesee Tower Design Competition.Initial and former member of the City of Flint Master Planning Steering Committee - July 2011 - January 2014. Roles and responsibilities include participation in capacity building training/workshops to increase the effectiveness of the planning process in order to appropriately channel resources, and create a revitalized city. In addition to addressing the fundamentals of the plan, recommendations are presented on how to evolve the City of Flint culturally, economically, and educationally. Additional roles include working with city officials and the planning commission on better communication, data collection and analysis, and plan development for the city. Serves as a Co-Facilitator of the Natural Resource, Open Spaces, and Conservation advisory group.
