Position Summary:Maintains the Seguin Animal Services Facility, captures and impounds animals located while on patrol or in response to complaints, disposes of certain animals using humane methods, informs general public of state laws and city ordinances regarding treatment of animals, and maintains appropriate records and reports.Knowledge, Skills, and Certification:*Thorough knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the licensing, quarantine, and impoundment of animals.*Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with the general public and local law enforcement and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.*Ability to respond to emergency calls; capture and restrain sick, injured, or aggressive animals; capture and restrain feral wildlife; humanely euthanize certain animals. *I have been certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services to legally practice Zoonosis Control within the state of Texas.
